A cheap technology has been discovered to have Bore well water without any arsenic pollutant. Water polluted with arsenic has been the cause of many people in the western countries suffering from cancer.
Britain’s Belfast University scientists have developed a cheap technology with which complete purification can be achieved from arsenic in water.
The head of the team Dr Bhaskar Sen Gupta said, “Scientists of queen have developed this technology which is fully environmental friendly, easy to use, cheap and can be used in rural areas”.
This technology which is used on underground water by making the arsenic polluted water run over different permissible stones. These stones can absorb water. This technique increases the oxygen content of the water and reduces the mixing of arsenic from the soil.
By this technique the quantity of arsenic in water keep reducing with time. It is important to note that about seven crore people in parts on eastern India and Bangladesh use water and rice contaminated with arsenic. This is the reason they become a victim of diseases like cancer.
In Bangladesh out of every 100 people one is standing on the death line due to arsenic pollution.
