Stylish and Eternal: Titanium Wedding Rings

Titanium - it evokes thoughts of durability and strength. What better symbol for the devotion and commitment of a wedding ring could there be? This metal, while seemingly so common, has extraordinary properties that make it a perfect base for engagement and wedding rings.

When it comes to metals, titanium is one of the strongest. It takes considerable force to cause a titanium ring to get out of round. For example, a gold wedding ring is far more likely to be damaged if you slam the car door on your hand. It's possible to scratch it, but it's not easy. A little polishing and it will look like new again.

In spite of this hardness, there is no need to worry about a titanium ring getting stuck in an emergency situation. In extreme circumstances, a gold ring can be bent out of shape and create painful pressure on the finger. That's less likely with a titanium wedding ring. But in the event it does, the ring could be removed by cutting, similar to any other material.

Strength is one reason that titanium makes its way into jets and other high-tech applications. However, there is another. It's extremely light, weighing in at two thirds less than gold. Some like the whisper soft feel of titanium. It rests on the finger lightly and gives no resistance during movement. This is a real bonus for those who spend a lot of time using a keyboard.

And, because it is hypoallergenic and medically safe, titanium wedding rings can be worn full time with no concerns. They won't irritate the skin at all. Titanium is a benign material, and is employed in numerous medical situations such as hip implants.

Titanium engagement or wedding rings aren't just a practical wonder, though. They're also stunning in appearance.

Titanium in its natural form is gray in color, sort of like stainless steel only more lustrous. Not only can it be crafted into detailed designs due to its hardness, it can also be polished to shine brightly. Those qualities make for a subtle, yet ultra-elegant and different style of jewelry. During the manufacturing process, it can also be treated so it becomes a shining black in color. However, make sure you get genuine black titanium; if it has just been coated it will have to be restored periodically.

Men, particularly, enjoy the option of having the stylish alternative presented by this unusual wedding ring metal. Combining the two types - gray and black - gives even more design choices. The end result is an outstanding wedding band that is extremely lightweight as well as distinct and fashionable.

Consider this different look and feel for your wedding ring. After all, you are unique. Doesn't it make sense that your ring be unique as well?
